Amy is a 2012 graduate of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to her masters degree in Chinese medicine she worked as a massage practitioner for 20 years. After graduation from OCOM, she spent 2 months in Nepal with the Acupuncture Relief Project working in a clinic in Chapagoan, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, providing basic health care and acupuncture to villagers. Amy also spent time in Peru with Project Buena Vista providing acupuncture to folks in villages in the Amazon region.
Besides treating people with Traditional Chinese Medicine, Amy is also trained in and offering Cosmetic Acupuncture and Acupuncture Injection Therapy. Cosmetic Acupuncture is a more natural way of building collagen and decreasing signs of aging. It’s helpful for find lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and sagging skin. Modalities she uses are Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, facial cupping, and gua sha, Micro-Needling, LED therapy, organic skincare products, and Cosmetic Injections of vitamins, plant based extracts, collagen, and hyaluronic acid.
The scope of practice of Acupuncturists in the state of WA allows them to utilize Acupuncture Injection Therapy. They can inject low level pain killers like Procain and Lidocaine, B-12 and other vitamins, plant based homeopathic extracts, and some Chinese formulas. These are excellent tools to have available for dealing with joint pain, neuropathies, fatigue, and many other issues.
